24 Hours in Mexico

So I’ve been in Mexico for 24 hours. I’ve never been to Mexico before so I’m pretty excited.

I’m staying at the Aventura Spa Palace. It’s a posh resort for adults only (woo!) but that mostly means a lot of couples. We have a ridiculous amount of included services though. Today I had a massage, manicure, pedicure, hydrotherapy, went snorkeling, went rockclimbing, ate at really fancy restaurants, and had champagne delivered to the room and have yet to go into my wallet which is pretty crazy.

We’ve made plans to to visit Coba, Tulum, and Chichen Itza over the next few days then we’re going to rent a boat and have dolphins take us for a swim (not even kidding motherfucking dolphins) on Sunday.

My only regret is that I’m not soaking up any Mexican culture because the resort is really miles away from anything “local”. All of the workers are extremely friendly but it’s in this weird fake resort environment and everyone speaks English. The culture shock of immediately going from this resort to Israel/Palestine is going to be interesting.

Travel

So tomorrow morning I flight to Cancun to explore Mayan ruins and drink margaritas for 7 nights and then I’m immediately flying to Israel/Palestine to explore the country as part of a Quaker delegation. I’ll be gone most of June but I’ll miss you guys and I’ll try to post updates to my Tumblr whenever I have internet access!
